Established in 1996, 008 combines rich, soulful vocals with raw,
energy-packed instrumentals to serve up a jazz/funk/ rock/soul recipe for our
modern musical times. 008 has been shaking up the local club
circuit in San Francisco and parts of the West Coast for the past five years.
008 has shared the stage with the likes of Maceo Parker, The Funky Meters,
George Porter Jr. and the Runnin' Pardners, Wilco, Phil Lesh and Friends,
Zigaboo Modeliste and have secured a rapidly
growing following. From the halls of The Fillmore to the stages of Slim's,
Maritime Hall, The Great American Music Hall, and the Paradise Lounge, 008
has established themselves as one of San Francisco's best kept secrets. 008's
versatility and captivating approach are infectious. As far as 008's live
shows go, they are something like this...

"We have reports from down here that people
are doing stupid, sensual things, were in a state of uncontrollable frenzy, were wriggling like fish,
doing something called "Eagle Rock" and the "Sassy Bump";
were cutting a mean "mooche" and "lusting after relevance"... It knows no class,
no race, no consciousness. It is propagating and you can never tell when it will hit."
- Mumbo Jumbo, Ishmael Reed
